Support

Would you like to help us provide the best service we can to women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse?

We were established in 1973 during the second wave of the women’s liberation movement – a period where activists collectively recognised that there was a need to provide support and safe refuge to women experiencing domestic abuse. Our organisation has grassroots, feminist foundations and we are passionate about ensuring everyone who works for us is a passionate feminist too!

About Us

We were established in 1973 during the second wave of the women’s liberation movement – a period where activists collectively recognised that there was a need to provide support and safe refuge to women experiencing domestic abuse. Initially, our focus was on women’s experiences, but as the organisation evolved our focus included children and young people.
